FAQ:Your Questions, Answered.
What makes the PEACOCK Pocket Warmer ?
Hakkin Kairo is known for its exceptional warmth, long-lasting heat, and eco-friendly design. It produces up to 13 times more heat than typical disposable warmers, and the STANDARD model provides up to 24 hours of continuous warmth on a single fill.
Because it uses petroleum lighter fluid (naphtha) as fuel, it produces no waste after use. Hakkin Kairo also performs reliably in extreme cold—down to -40°C (-40°F)—making it ideal for winter outdoor activities, work environments, and extreme climates.
How do I ignite the Pocket Warmer ?
Use a match or a lighter for ignition. Apply the flame directly to the V-shaped catalyst pad (the black mesh in the center of the burner head) for about 3–5 seconds.
If you feel a gentle, warm airflow from the burner afterward, it has successfully ignited.
What type of fuel should I use?
Use standard hand warmer fluid, lighter fluid (such as Zippo®), naphtha (not benzene), or pure white gas.
Please avoid using low-quality or unrefined fuels. They may cause poor ignition, shorter burn time, or faster catalyst deterioration.
When should I replace the burner ?
The burner is a consumable part. It typically needs replacement every 1–2 seasons (about 1–2 years), depending on usage.
If you notice symptoms such as difficulty igniting, reduced heat output, or quick cooling, it may be time to replace the burner.
When should I ignite it after filling?
It is best to ignite the PEACOCK Pocket Warmer immediately after filling.
Because the fuel evaporates easily, waiting too long can shorten the heating duration.
Also, leaving fuel inside the tank for long periods may prevent you from adding the correct amount next time, and excess fuel on the burner may cause malfunctions.
Is it allowed on international flights
Fuel (lighter fluid/naphtha) is not allowed on aircraft for safety reasons.
The warmer itself may be permitted only if it has never been filled with fuel—meaning it is completely unused. However, airline inspections are strict, and approval is not guaranteed.
Please check with your airline before traveling.
Can I use it in extreme conditions?
Yes. The PEACOCK Pocket Warmer works reliably in temperatures as low as -40°C (-40°F) and provides significantly more warmth than disposable warmers.
However, at very high altitudes—such as locations above 4,000 meters (13,000 ft)—the reduced oxygen levels may cause the burner to stop functioning (flame-out). Try to ensure sufficient airflow and oxygen when using it in such conditions.
Is it compatible with ZIPPO warmers?
No. Current ZIPPO hand warmers are not compatible with PEACOCK parts.
Although our company manufactured OEM warmers for ZIPPO in 2002–2003, all later ZIPPO models use their own internal specifications.
For safe and optimal performance, please use only PEACOCK-specific replacement parts, especially for the burner.
